Evaristo "Billy" Gonzalez, 60, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, in Lubbock. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at San Jose Catholic Church, with Father Ramon Molina officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 10 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

Evaristo was born on May 5, 1962, in Sonora, Texas to Amadeo and Teresa (Martinez) Gonzalez. Evaristo was a jack of all trades and worked as a truck driver, mechanic, carpenter, and in the heating and air industry. He was an excellent football player and track star in his younger years. Evaristo enjoyed playing pool, having drinks and conversations with family and friends, listening to music, singing, and dancing. He also loved to draw. Evaristo was a superhero in his mind and always held great confidence. He loved his family and was proud of them, and he would always brag to others about his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories are his mom, Teresa Gonzalez of Seagraves, Texas; three sons, Evaristo Gonzalez Jr. of Lubbock, Texas, Anthony Gonzalez of Houston, Texas, and Tommy Ray Gonzalez and his wife Gricelda of Hereford, Texas; eight grandchildren, Joshua Gonzalez, Jacob Gonzalez, Ian Gonzalez, Khloe Gonzalez, Tommy Kris Gonzalez, Jr., Gabriella Gonzalez, Katalina Gonzalez, and Rei Gonzalez; great- granddaughter Hailee Gonzalez; sister Mary Gonzalez of Seagraves, Texas, brother Alfredo Gonzalez of Seagraves, Texas, and nephews Israel Ramirez and Alfredo Gonzalez Jr.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Amadeo Gonzalez, a brother Amadeo Gonzalez Jr., and a niece Beatrice Gonzalez.
