Eusebio "Sam" Marquez, 92, of Amarillo, Texas formerly of Hereford, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Amarillo, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Funeral Home. Viewing and Visitation will be on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4:00 -8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Eusebio "Sam" was born on August 14, 1931, in Bernal, New Mexico to Jose and Rita (Montoya) Marquez. He was a resident of Hereford from 1958 to 1995, then moved to Washington State, and later back to Texas. Sam worked in Construction and irrigation pipeline repair and owned Marquez Land Leveling. He was a hard worker and worked till the age of 84. Sam enjoyed fishing, camping, and music. Sam could play the guitar, piano, and sing, and lead worship in his church. Sam loved his Lord, had a personal relationship with Him, and was grateful for all God had done in his life. He also loved to tease, was a charmer, and enjoyed time spent with family and his nieces, "mis chickens."

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Lawrence Marquez and his wife Pauline of Las Vegas, NM, Tony Marquez of Glorietta, NM, Theresa Marquez of Albuquerque, NM, Mona Romero and her husband Emilio of Amarillo, TX, Lisa Galan and her husband Phillip of Amarillo, TX, Patti Soto and her husband Robert of Everson, WA, Leo Marquez and his wife Kay Lynn of Rochester, WA, and Rosemarie Taylor and her husband Johnathan of Burleson, TX; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife Stella Marquez, son Sammy Marquez, parents Jose and Rita Marquez, two sisters, and six brothers.
