Ernie Martinez, 61, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Hereford. Cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. No services have been scheduled at this time.

Ernie was born December 19, 1959 in Hereford, Texas to Ernesto and Theresa Martinez (Almaraz). Ernie has been a resident of Hereford all his life. He attended Hereford schools and was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Ernie loved his rock-n-roll music, by ACDC and loved to dance. He enjoyed painting houses, planting a garden, watching NASCAR races, playing jeopardy, and doing crossword and word search puzzles. He loved cookouts with his family and friends. Ernie loved spending time with his sisters, helping others in anyway that he could and playing golf with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Escobal; a son, Ernest Anthony Martinez of Amarillo, TX., 2 stepdaughters, Cindy Mejia and her husband Abundio of Hereford, TX., and Lily DeLaCruz of Friona, TX., 4 sisters, Grace Gutierrez and her husband Mario of Hereford, TX., Sylvia Ramirez and her husband Fred of Amarillo, TX., Diana Mejia and her husband Pat of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Ernestina Ortiz of Hereford, TX., 2 grandchildren, Braxton and Brandon Martinez of Amarillo, TX.

Ernie is joining his parents, a brother, Victor Martinez, and a sister, Vangie Martinez in heaven.
