Erma "Nanny" Rickman, 92, a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas.  Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Latham officiating. Interment will follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Erma "Nanny" Rickman was born on August 12, 1929, in Hollene, New Mexico to Charles Elbert and Beulah Mae (Davison) Cross. She married Raymond LeeRoy Rickman in November of 1946. Erma was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her husband and children.  She was a custom quilter, quilting bedspreads, shams, valances, and drapes; and she was a great seamstress. She was a member of Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the church's women's group, Kingdom Seekers.  Erma was a hoot, she was always right, and you never knew what was going to come out or happen. She loved taking care of children, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, baking, trying new recipes, going to the store, and sitting in her rocking chair on her front porch.  Erma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

The legacy she leaves behind is her daughter, Linda Ott and her husband Ronald of Hereford, Texas, a son-in-law, Thad Keyes of Logan, New Mexico, and a daughter-in-law Martha Rickman of Hereford, Texas; grandchildren, Darla Newton Rodriguez, Brent Newton and wife Amy, Chip Barnett, Trey Barnett, Shaun Rickman and wife Debra, Susan Rickman, John David Rickman and wife Cynthia, Amanda Rickman Romo and husband Stephen, Randall Keyes and wife Carol, and Nate Keyes and wife Lori; great grandchildren, Kallie and Chris Garcia, Kailey and Mario Reyna, Chase Newton, Heath Rodriguez, Rodey and Jaci Newton, Maddy Keyes, Karley Keyes, Alyssa Romo, Caleb Romo, Tiffany and Karston Outman, Taylor Ruiz, Tessa and Austin Rickman, Tristyn Rickman, Stacey Rickman, Megan and Ben Parent, Zachary Rickman, Kayton Rickman, Autumn Rickman, and Bailey Rickman; great-great grandchildren, Isaiah Garcia, Nicholas Reyna, Kaitlyn Reyna, Paizley Outman, Braxton Parent, Haiden Parent, Romeo Ortegon, and Danica Rickman.

Erma has joined her husband of 73 years Raymond LeeRoy Rickman, parents, Charles Elbert and Beulah Mae Cross, daughter Debbie Keyes, son Johnny Rickman, grandson Stacy Rickman, twin great grandsons Michael and Stephen Romo, and great-great grandson Bradley Ortegon.
