Elva C. Castillo, 82, of Hereford, Texas passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church at the Salon with celebrant Ramon Molina officiating, burial will follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Viewing will begin Tuesday at 1:00-8:00 PM.

Elva was born October 4, 1937 in Donna, Texas to Ciro and Estella (Alejandro) Casarez. Elva has been a resident of Hereford since the mid 1960's. She married Jesus G. Castillo on November 30, 1959. Elva was a member of San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford, Texas. Elva loved spending time with her grandchildren; she especially enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart. She never really met a stranger, she loved to socialize. She babysat for people she knew for 5-6 years and truly loved it. Elva's life was about her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons George Castillo and his wife Emma of Hereford, Texas, Jesse Castillo and his wife Josie of Amarillo, Texas, Peter Castillo, Henry Castillo and his wife Clarisse and a her daughter Eudelia Iruegas all of Hereford, Texas; three sisters Olga Tijerina, Sylvia Cardenas and her husband Juan all of Hereford, Texas and Leticia Alejandro of Phoenix, AZ., and three brothers Ciro Casarez and his wife Esperanza, Mike Casarez and his wife Julie and David Casarez and his wife Susie all of Hereford, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Elva is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesus G. Castillo, a grandson Enrique Castillo, Jr., a brother Guadalupe Casarez and a sister Minerva DeLeon.
