Eloy Olguin, 86, of Hereford passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Hereford. The Olguin Family will be having a Memorial Mass at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Eloy was born January 3, 1933 in Chaparrita, New Mexico to Fernando and Gregorita (Sena) Olguin. Eloy has been a resident of Hereford since 1943. Eloy grew up on a farm and as a young boy and would ride in the back of a pick-up with the POW's. He married Juanita Saiz in 1951 in Umbarger. Eloy has been a farmer all his life. He enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles, being outdoors, playing the guitar, piano, violin, mandolin and the accordion. He played all these instruments by ear and was a very talented musician. Eloy was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Juanita "Ruby" Olguin of Hereford and a son James Olguin and his wife Cecilia of Hereford; three sisters Trudy Lopez of Ruidoso Downs, N.M.; Lillie Ramirez and her husband Tony of Guymon, OK., and Nieves Garcia of Ruidoso, N.M., two granddaughters Jessica and Vanessa Burton both of Amarillo and a special niece Synthia Maldonado of Amarillo.

Eloy is preceded in death by his parents, a son Francisco Olguin and four sisters Marcella Solis, Esmeralda Torres, Frances Lopez and Dulce Olguin.
