Eloy "Eli" "Charro" Franco Urias, 75, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Amarillo, surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Visitation and Viewing will be on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 3:00 -8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with rosary recited at 6:00 P.M.

Eloy was born on June 12, 1949, in Ft. Stockton, Texas to Elias and Andrea (Franco) Urias. Eloy met the love of his life and friend Beatrice Griego 34 years ago; they were married on September 4, 2000. He worked as a carpet layer with his brother Lionel for 25 years, together they owned and operated Urias Carpet Service in Houston. Eloy returned to school later in life, attending Amarillo College, and received his degree in Information Technology. He worked for Amarillo College in their IT Department for 12 years, then for Amarillo Medical Claims as IT support.  Eloy loved technology and all technology gadgets. In his younger years, he enjoyed being a DJ for the Tejano Station in Amarillo and a promoter for local wrestling. Eloy also enjoyed playing golf and watching the Texans and Astros. Eloy was mischievous, opinionated always telling you as it is, and generous in thought and care of others.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Beatrice Urias of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters Monica Brown and husband Glen of Florida and Adriana Urias of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren, Cameron Brown of Missouri, Corbin Brown of Florida, and Carson Brown of Missouri; siblings, Ercilia Lafuente and husband Arnold of Frisco, Texas, Mary Drake of Hereford, Texas, Ismael Urias of Hereford, Texas, Lionel Urias and wife Laura of Katy, Texas, Yolanda Gavina and husband Manuel of Amarillo, Texas, Diana Mendiaz of Hereford, Texas, Nora Pesina and husband Dan of Hereford, Texas, and Joann Ramirez and husband Gilbert of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Andrea Urias, two brothers, Elias Urias, Jr. and Melecio Urias, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ernesto and Dolores Griego, and two nephews, Timothy Urias and Sonny Urias.
