Ellen "Von" Gallagher, age 91, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Hereford. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at West Park Cemetery, with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating. Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas, is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and services. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ellen was born on March 19, 1934, in Hamlin, Texas, to Claude and Bessie (Smith) Marchman. She met and married the love of her life, Johnny Gallagher, on November 19, 1966. Together, they built a wonderful life and were blessed with a beautiful daughter. Ellen made Hereford her home since the 1950s, dedicating herself to caring for her husband and raising her daughter with love and devotion.

Affectionately known as "Von" to many, she found joy in crocheting and playing Yahtzee. However, what she cherished most was spending time with her family. Her presence, radiant smile, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Ellen's memory will be treasured by her daughter, Debbie Gabel and her husband Chris of Hereford, Texas; her grandchildren, Dalton Gabel and his fiancée Chloe, both of Lubbock, Texas, and Samantha Gabel of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by her special niece, Ronita Henson and her husband Norman of Shattuck, Oklahoma, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Bessie Marchman; her beloved husband, Johnny Gallagher; her brother, James Marchman; and her two sisters, Gwen Whittaker and Gloria Hudson.
