Elias "Alex" "Tati" Dela Cerda, 65, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in Amarillo. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Raul Valdez officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Elias was born on May 19, 1958, in Hereford, Texas, to Victor Antonio and Paula (Pena) Dela Cerda. Elias married the love of his life, Jacqueline Guerrero, in 1994. Elias was a self-employed truck driver hauling cattle for Reiter Trucking, he recently retired 3 years ago. He was a member of the Community Church of Hereford, and the John Pittman Golf Course. Elias was an avid golfer and Dallas Cowboy Fan, he loved to fish, play all types of card games, and listen to Christian music and the oldies. Elias's presence and laughter will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jacqueline Dela Cerda of Hereford; his children Amanda DeLaPaz and her husband Ricky of Hereford, and Michael Dela Cerda and his wife AnnMarie of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren Samantha Delgado, Morelia Delgado, Ricardo DeLaPaz and Olivia DeLaPaz, and 1 step-grandson Jonathan Zambrano; 2 great grandchildren Amara and Savanna, and 3 step great grandchildren Jaxx, Zander and Jonah; his siblings, Raymon Dela Cerda and his wife Imelda, Raul Dela Cerda, Juan Mendoza and his wife Diana, Carlos Mendoza, and Dan Mendoza and his wife Ortencia all of Amarillo, Richard Dela Cerda and his wife Licha of Dallas, Connie Mejia and her husband Joe of Casa Grande, AZ., and Paula Leon of Kansas.

Elias is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Aurora Ramirez, Samuel, Israel, George, Arturo, Victor, and Oscar Dela Cerda.
