Elaine V. Padilla, 56, of Hereford passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in Hereford. Funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Avenue Baptist Church of Hereford, Texas with Pastor Estevan Martinez officiating. Graveside service will be at 5:00 PM (CST) in Dilia, New Mexico at the Dilia Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Elaine was born May 6, 1963 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Jose Ignacio and Senaida (Velasquez) Maestas. She has been a resident of Hereford for 36 years. She married Exiquio "Red" Padilla in 1979 in Mora, New Mexico. Elaine owned and operated "Elaine's Shop" on Main Street for 17 years. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida of Hereford. Elaine loved to shop, going to the lake, watching her novelas, going to the casino, but her most loved enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Exiquio "Red" Padilla of Hereford; three daughters Evelyn Iglesias and her husband Arnoldo of Hereford; Jennifer Chavira and her husband Jesus and Celia Martinez and her husband Hector all of Amarillo; six brothers Jenaro Maestas and his wife Lorraine of Anton Chico, N.M.; Jose Ignacio Maestas, Jr.; Dennis Maestas and his wife Theresa; Marvin Maestas and his wife Sharon Baca; Johnny Maestas and his wife Sue Ann all of Dilia, N.M. and Rick Maestas and his wife Pauline of Anton Chico, N.M.; two sisters Liova Padilla and her husband Francisco of La Loma, N.M. and JoAnn Padilla and her husband Leonel of Dodge City, KS., six grandchildren Adalyn Chavira; A.J. Iglesias; Kamila Iglesias; Isabela Iglesias; Eliana Martinez and Christian Martinez.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Evangelina Maestas.
