E.J. Martinez, 48, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, in Hereford. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Albert Cantu officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

E.J. was born on March 30, 1973, in Herford, Texas to Emilio Martinez Sr. and Gloria (DeLeon) Martinez. E.J. was a lifelong resident of Hereford. He married Hope (Garcia) Martinez in 1996 in Canyon, Texas. He worked as a truck driver for Bar G for 15 years and Texas Ag for 5 years. E. J. enjoyed playing the guitar and in his younger days he enjoyed drag racing. He loved any and all kinds of music and he was a great dancer. E.J. loved to read nonfictional history books, loved to cook, and grill out, especially chicken legs. He was a jokester who had a great sense of humor, and he was always smiling. E.J. was a great father and an awesome provider for his family. He loved all his family, and he was loved by everyone.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Hope Martinez of Hereford, Texas; daughter Hannah Martinez and her boyfriend Jacob Ramirez of San Antonio; son Dillan Martinez and his girlfriend Raquel Ortiz of Hereford, Texas; his father Emilio Martinez, Sr. of Midland, Texas; his brother Lee Martinez and his wife Carla of Ft. Worth, Texas; and a brother-in-law David Garcia and his wife Lisa of Hereford, Texas.

E.J. is preceded in death by his mother Gloria Martinez and his grandfather Eugene DeLeon.
