Eduardo Martin Zapata, 49, of Amarillo, Texas formerly of Hereford passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford with Father Hector Madrigal officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Everyone attending services at the church must wear a mask provided by you and there will be no public restrooms available per the church. Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 virus only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any given time. Your health and safety matter to us. Rosary will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the church. Again, everyone attending the rosary will need to wear a mask provided by you.

Eduardo was born October 18, 1970 in Mexico to Martin and Maxima (Pizaña) Zapata. Eduardo graduated from Hereford High School in 1987, shortly there after he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1988 and served our country for 4 years. He came back to Hereford and worked for Xcel and Hi-Pro for a few years. He married Catalina Castillo on May 26, 2001. They later moved to Amarillo where he went to work for Affiliated driving a truck; a few years later he owned and operated EZ Trucking. Eduardo loved driving his truck, dancing, watching wrestling on TV and he also enjoyed boxing, where he boxed a few times himself.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Catalina Zapata of Amarillo a daughter Yahaira Zapata of Amarillo, a stepson Jose Ramirez and his wife Yesenia of Cypress, Texas and a stepdaughter Yamilex Ramirez of Amarillo; his parents Martin and Maxima of Hereford, his siblings Lidia Zapata and her husband Gilberto of Colorado, Manuel Zapata of Muleshoe, Josefina Zapata of Hereford and Natalie Zapata and her husband Endriss of Colorado; 2 step- grandchildren Jedekiah and Zephaniah Ramirez, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
