Don "Pops" Scott, 81, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, February 10, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Power Church in Amarillo, Texas; 1344 SE 10th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79102. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Don was born on November 16, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas to Jesse and Carmie (Walker) Scott. He married Patricia (Massey) Scott on April 9, 1965, in Hereford. He has been a resident of Hereford for 53 years. Don worked in maintenance at the Holly Sugar Plant and as a truck driver for Panhandle Express. He loved to ride his Harley, shoot skeet, play golf, and was a jack of all trades. However, his greatest love was for his family and spending time with them. Don could do anything he set his mind to and taught his girls how to "manhandle," teaching them how to work on cars and weld. Don lived every day as if it was his eulogy, to the fullest.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Patricia Scott of Hereford, Texas; sons, Shane Scott and  Jeremy Scott and his wife Yvonne, both of Amarillo, Texas; daughters, Deborah Scott of Ft. Worth, Texas, Donna Mumau of Hereford, Texas, and Carrie Edwards and her husband Scoty of Farwell, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren, fifty plus great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters Phyllis Sims and her husband Dennis of Panhandle, Texas and Kathy Guinn of Amarillo, Texas; brother Terry Scott of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Tiffany Lopez; two great-granddaughters, Rylea Edwards and Unity Lopez; a brother Frank Scott; and two sisters, Sallian Scott and Billie Young.
