Dominga "Mingita" Sixtos Garcia, 89, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Hereford, Texas. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ted Taylor officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 3:00-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Dominga was born August 27, 1933, in Yorktown, Texas, to Leonard and Tomasa (Mijia) Sixtos. Dominga has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, since 1967. Dominga has been a homemaker taking much pride in raising her children, grandchildren and caring for her husband. She enjoyed cooking, especially her tortillas and tamales; gardening her plants and flowers, loving her ivies the most, listening to music and dancing, embroidering, but most of all spending time with her family for holidays and her birthday, which has always been celebrated since her 77 ^th birthday; her grandson, Sammy, celebrated with her one year dressed up as Elvis. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Stella Charles of Amarillo, Texas, Delia Vela and her husband Arturo of New Braunfels, Texas, Johnny Pena and his wife Velma of Irving, Texas, Ida Garza and her husband Gilbert of Wharton, Texas, Jaime Garcia of Hereford, Texas, and Dominga's partner Julian Benavidez of Hereford, Texas; a brother Demetrio Sixtos and his wife Adela of Yorktown, Texas, and two sisters Manuela Garcia of El Campo, Texas, and Elva Sixtos of Brownfield, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren and twenty-five      great-great grandchildren.

Dominga is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mariano Garcia, a son Julian Pena, Jr., three granddaughters Corina Pena, Monica Pena Mendez, and Rebecca Salas, two great grandsons Jose Angel Valadez and Donavan Duran and four brothers Mercadio, Fred, Victorio and Gilbert Sixtos and one sister Lucia Rodriguez.
