Dixie White, 91, a long time Summerfield resident passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 in Friona. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Westway Baptist Church with Rev. Ken R. Varner and Rev. Ellis Parsons officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Family and friend visitation will be Monday from 5:00 -7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Dixie Mae White was born November 30, 1926 in Maud, Oklahoma to Richard and Eunice Stacy Raper. She graduated as valedictorian from Maud High School in 1945. She married Jack White in Konawa, Oklahoma on October 26, 1945. Dixie was a wife of a farmer and rancher for over 50 years while raising their 4 children. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping and raising baby calves. Dixie was known for her nickname "Big Red" and her big smile. She was a member of Summerfield Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Beverly White of Amarillo, Debbie White of Summerfield and one son, Bobby White of Summerfield; 10 grandchildren, Rashea Brown and husband Quint, Jacqueline Cullum and husband Darrell, Stephanie Rattray and husband Dave, Jodi Sims and husband Bobby, Michah Ruddle, Contessa Smith and husband Steven, Cody Black, Madison White, Grayson White and Brandon White; 16 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack White, a son, J.W. White, two brothers, Andy and Arvel Raper, three sisters, Edith Jackson, Pauline Ballard McCown and Veral Acree.
