Delia Vigil, 65, of Hereford, Texas passed away on June 11, 2020, in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020, 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Nestor Lara officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Viewing will take place Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 1:30-8:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to the COVID- 19, only (40%) building capacity of people will be allowed in the funeral home at one time. Your health and safety matter to us.

Delia was born December 23, 1954 to Jose and Josephina (Carranza) Ruiz in Cotulla, Texas. She married Secundino (Vince) Vigil. She has been a resident of Hereford for over 30 years and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Delia worked as a bilingual teacher and teacher aid in Plainview, Texas then after moving back to Hereford she a homemaker and took pride in raising her children. She ran Bingo at the Elks Lodge and was named Elks Lodge Sweetheart. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Club. Delia enjoyed the casino and bingo. She loved to bake, especially Christmas goodies and birthday cakes for her children. She loved and enjoyed family time.

Those left to cherish Delia's memories are her husband Vince Vigil; daughter Valerie Tijerina and husband Joel Sr. all of Hereford, Texas; sons: Jason Vigil and wife Pamela of Amarillo, Texas, Justin Vigil of Hereford, Texas and Jucoby Vigil and wife Consuelo of Hereford, Texas; two brothers: Jimmy Ruiz and wife Victoria of Amarillo, Texas, Joe Ruiz and wife Suzie of Hereford, Texas; four sisters: Vera Pena and husband Albert of Hereford, Texas, Mary Rangel of Plainview, Texas, Dora Pesqueda of San Antonio, Texas, and Janie Holguin and husband Eddie of Hereford, Texas; ten grandchildren: Ryann, Audrey, Joel Jr., Jared, Jordan, Jaydan, Jason Jr., Sabrie, Sebastian, and Kinzlee; two great grandchildren: Jaxsyn and Tristyn.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Lupe Medina.
