Dax Jaron Flickinger, born July 20, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK went to his eternal home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. After a courageous 3 year battle with cancer, Dax is free from pain and at peace, totally healed and in the presence of Pure Love–Jesus Christ.

Dax was the beloved son of Chris and Brooke Flickinger.

Dax brought joy and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His short journey on this earth was full of impact. Dax's life was marked by JOY, generosity, gratitude, compassion tenacity, resilience, and unwavering faith in Jesus. Dax's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.

In the words of his older brother, Kidron, Dax is the definition of what a man should aspire to be. When he was hurting, he was always making sure that all of us were feeling okay. He fought back against death relentlessly. He was self-aware. He shared all of his feelings when life made it easy to want to check out. He worked hard and played hard. He loved everyone first. Dax's sister, Naya, thinks of him as always kind, funny, and brave. He was the best person any of us will ever know.

Dax's joyful and adventurous spirit found gladness in nature and music. He loved riding his bike, hiking in the mountains, farming and playing drums to worship music for countless hours.

Dax is survived by his loving parents, Chris and Brooke, his brother Kidron and his sister Naya. Dax was the cherished grandson of John and Karla Flickinger and Pansy and Wendell Bostwick. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins who adored him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ricky Byers, and his cousin, Garrett Byers.

Those who knew Dax will remember him for his infectious smile, overwhelming giggles and laughter, deeply rooted faith in Jesus and his passion for showing genuine love and kindness to everyone he encountered. Dax had a rare gift for making others smile and feel special. He was the best at never withholding a warm, sincere compliment. Dax always said, "It's easy to love." He embodied that very statement every single day. We share Dax's love and respect for all his medical & special care teams, pastors & intercessors, throughout the cancer journey and honor their support of our entire family.

The Celebration of Life Service honoring Dax Jaron Flickinger will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Church on the Rock South Campus, 10503 Slide Road, Lubbock, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be sent to The Sunshine Kids, www.sunshinekids.org/donate, 2814 Virginia St., Houston, Texas, 77098. This organization was special to Dax. They provide amazing group trips for teenagers battling cancer and other long-term difficulties.

Although Dax's physical presence no longer graces our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire us. May his memory be a blessing and his legacy of love mark all we do and say.
