David Ruiz, 57, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Hereford, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Victory Family Worship Center, with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating. Burial of Cremains to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.

David was born on April 6, 1965, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Juan Ruiz Sr. and Martha (Salinas) Ruiz. He is a 1983 Hereford High School Graduate. David was a boxer in his younger years; winning the National Pall Tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and representing the Amarillo Golden Gloves in Ft. Worth in 1982 and 1983. David also went to state with the Hereford High School Football Team in 1982. David worked in Carpentry and was a very skilled tradesman with drywall, painting, and remodeling. He was a Dallas Cowboys Fan, enjoyed touring lighthouses, and taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets. David was known for his beautiful green eyes and positive attitude; he always had a positive outlook even when things were hard.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Juan and Martha Ruiz; three sons, Christopher Ruiz of Atlanta, Georgia, David Anthony Ruiz and his girlfriend Jackie Martinez, and Nicholas Ruiz and his girlfriend Darion Perez both of Amarillo, Texas; Mother of his children, Margarita Ruiz of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren, Kayden Perez, Darius Braziel, Addy Ruiz, and Shawn Anthony Ruiz; siblings, Lala Murillo and her husband Ramon of Hereford, Texas, Juan Ruiz Jr. and his wife Carolina of Hereford, Texas, Zelda Flores and her husband Gilde of Hereford, Texas, Carmen Castillo and her husband Juan of Hereford, Texas, Fabian Ruiz and his wife Lupe of Amarillo, Texas, Jaime Ruiz and his wife Carol of Amarillo, Texas, and Fefe Ruiz and his wife Vicky of Hereford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother Julian Ruiz.
