David Cochran, 84, a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Hereford. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 2:00-7:30 PM and visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Roy David Cochran was born on October 11, 1940, in Amarillo, Texas, to George Theodore and Gertha Agnes (Johnson) Cochran. He attended schools in Amarillo and soon met and married the love of his life Barbara Hill, on January 21, 1958, in Amarillo, and together they had a wonderful life and two beautiful children, Monte and Kim. David served in the United States Navy for a short time. He was employed at Caviness Beef Packers for several years and later became the General Manager of the Service Company in Hereford for more than 25 years. David enjoyed wood working, listening to Alan Jackson's religious hymns, working in his yard and watching the hummingbirds that he always fed. His most loved hobby was spending time with his grandchildren and traveling to Clovis to enjoy his visit with "Mamo". David's presence, his early morning phone call with his daughter and laughter will be missed by all who love him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Kim Dawson and her husband Mike of Hereford; his brother, Teddy Cochran and his sister, Veda Noel both of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Shane Dawson and his wife Timber of Tulsa, OK., Sally Jenkins of Melrose, N.M., Allison Cochran of Clovis, N.M., Cody Cochran of Melrose, N.M., and Schuyler Downey and her husband Preston of Melrose, N.M.; twelve great grandchildren, Pyper Bailey and husband Devon, Eastyn and Deacon Belcher, Cy, Hally and Addyson Draper, Deajha, Daisey, Shylynn, Josie and Archie Downey and Katie Dawson.

David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Cochran, his son, Monte Cochran and his daughter-in-law, Penny Cochran.
