David Dean Burfield, 52, of Amarillo formerly of Hereford, Texas passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 AM with Dennis Latham officiating, burial to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Sunday from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 virus only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any one given time. Your safety and health matter to us.

David was born December 10, 1967 in Plainview, Texas to Charles David and Jo Anne Burfield (Fite). David attended schools in Hereford and later worked with his dad Charles, who owned Charlie's Tire, for 8 years. He then moved to Dalhart, Texas and owned and operated D&S Tire from 1994-2000. David loved the game of baseball, both playing it and watching it. He enjoyed watching football and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech. He enjoyed spending time with his family and time at the lake. He loved music and most of all dog setting with his grand dog, Bailey.

Those left to cherish his memories are his mother Jo Anne Averett and Step-dad Paul of Amarillo, a daughter Alexis Alyce Burfield, a son David Lee Burfield both of Amarillo and a son Kyle Tanner Burfield of Pennsylvania, a sister Michele Mappe and her husband Bryan of Friendswood, Texas, 4 step-siblings, Judy Daniels and husband Walter of Amarillo, Ken Averett and Craig Averett both of Lubbock and Karen Neel and her husband Jim of Tennessee, 3 grandchildren Kinsleigh Bella-Mae Gaburick, Kaden Grey Burfield and Meilani Monroe Burfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

David will be joining his dad, his aunt Virgie Arnold and a cousin, Elaine Wilson in heaven.
