Danny Thompson, 70, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in Hereford, Texas. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in the Mausoleum Chapel, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas, with Noe Diaz officiating. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Monday, December 27, 2021, from 1:00-5:00PM at the funeral home.

Danny was born on May 13, 1951, in Hereford, Texas, to Bill and Dickie (McWhirter) Thompson. Danny owned and operated "Danny's Vending" for many years. He was known to many as the "Candyman." Danny loved riding and owning Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed hunting, watching "Gunsmoke" and fixing his own special recipe for his "Wild Man Chili;" Danny was an animal lover, especially dogs, he was ornery and loved giving his family a challenging time. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Denise Thompson of Paducah, Kentucky; his children Deann Martin and her husband Phil and Ashley Haskins and her husband Robert all of Hereford, Texas; his siblings Mary Ellen, Emma, and Randy; three grandchildren Zack and Jake Martin and Megan Johnson; three step grandchildren Addy Drake, Rebecca Colyer and Donald Haskins; two step great grandchildren Isabella and Sabrina; his fur babies Rascal (Lab-mix), DeeDee and Bud (Chihuahuas).

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Taylor Paige Martin and infant baby Haskins; stepdaughter Jenna Drake, son-in-law Wayne Johnson and his fur baby Buddy (Chihuahua).
