Daniel "Nene" Pesina, Sr., 93, of Hereford, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Ramon Molina officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with a rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Daniel was born on October 28, 1929, in Mexia, Texas to Jose B. and Petra (Ortese) Pesina. He has been a resident of Hereford since 1945. Daniel married Delfina De Los Santos on April 28, 1946, in Hereford, Texas at San Jose Catholic Church. Daniel worked as a truck driver and house painter and could fix just about anything. He loved to watch Gun Smoke, old westerns, and professional wrestling and loved to chop wood for the winter and ride his tractor. Daniel enjoyed cooking for his family and was a great cook, he made the very best chile. He was a very caring man, who lovingly worried for his children and if there was ever a need he was going to provide for it. He was charitable, good at math and numbers and was a great father, father-in-law, and grandfather; he loved his family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of seventy-seven years, Delfina Pesina; children, Josie Guerrero and her husband Martin, Sr. of Austin, Texas, Gloria Alvarado and her husband LT of San Antonio, Texas, Yolanda Pesina of Hereford, Texas, Ray Pesina of Hereford, Texas, Dan Pesina, Jr. and his wife Nora of Hereford, Texas, Eddie Pesina, Sr. and his wife Amelia of Hereford, Texas, and Jessie Pesina of Cedar Creek, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; special family friend Kevin Anthony Prather; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Seferino De Los Santos of Roswell, New Mexico; and two sister-in-laws Olga De Los Santos of Hereford, Texas and Esperanza Martinez of Hereford, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Petra Pesina; three brothers, Juan O. Pesina, Domingo O. Pesina, and Julio O. Pesina; daughter-in-law Hope Pesina, and a grandson Jesus Francisco Pesina.
