Dale Wright, 86, a lifelong member of the Hereford, TX community passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in Norma, Oklahoma.

Dale was born on December 4th, 1937, in Clovis, NM to Coleman and Faye (Myers) Wright.

He is succeeded in life by his Daughter Judy Baker and her husband, Dave Baker, of OKC, and Granddaughters Britney Welch and Brooklyn Schumacher.  Daughter Dawn Wright and Grandchildren Heather Perkins and Joe Cohorst. 6 Great grandchildren including 2 brand new twin girls. Sisters Paula Edwards and Gwenn Cui.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Rose Wright, and his parents, Faye and Coleman Wright.

Dale graduated from Hereford High School in 1955.  He joined the US Air Force in 1956 and married his sweetheart Rose Stephan July 6th, 1957.  They were stationed at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, FL Florida where their daughter Judy was born. After returning to Hereford, Dale worked at Deaf Smith County Abstract Office for many years before taking over the family farm at Milo Center north of Hereford where he farmed until retirement.

Dale was a man of high integrity, talent, and intelligence.  His strong work ethics were evident in all that he did. He was a perfectionist and extremely organized and it showed in his careers and in his hobbies. The farm was often referred to as "the garden" by others because it was small but perfect. He was an avid woodworker and remodeler. Our family has many beautiful keepsakes, such as baby cradles, art desks, computer desks, gymnastics medal holders, and curio cabinets, all of which he made completely by hand. Above all he was a man that SO loved his family.   Dale was a man who always lived by the golden rule; whether you were his neighbor, immediate family member, or complete stranger, he would move mountains to lend a helping hand simply because that's who he was as a man.

His character as a man created a lasting legacy of hard work, integrity, honesty, and selflessness; his family is especially grateful for the characteristics and lessons he instilled within each of us, passing on values that collectively make the world around us a better place. On behalf of his entire family, we are so thankful and proud he was ours. He will be forever loved, missed, and never forgotten.

A Memorial will be held in Norman Oklahoma with a future Memorial service pending in Hereford Tx. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.
