Cresilla Garza, 76, a longtime Hereford resident passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas at Vibra Long Term Acute Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 9, 2020 at San Jose Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Celebrant Ramon Molina, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin on Tuesday from 1:30-8:00PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Rosary will be Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 a mask must be worn for the funeral services on Thursday at San Jose Catholic Church provided by you.

Cresilla was born on October 10, 1943 in Garita, New Mexico to Luis and Jesusita (Garcia) Griego. Cresilla and her family moved from Mew Mexico to Hereford when she was very young, possibly 16 years of age. She attended Hereford High School. Cresilla was a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for approximately 40 years, retiring from nursing. Cresilla did a lot of volunteer work in the Hereford community; she did voter registration and helped those less fortunate apply for disability. Her all time most favorite pastime hobby was TRAVELING. She and her cousins traveled all over Texas and to several other states and did it very often.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Jeff Gomez and his wife Alice of Amarillo; Silvana Juarez and her husband Paul of Hereford; Jennifer Gomez and her husband George Romero of Amarillo; Tammy Gonzales of Las Colinas and Maricella Garza of Hereford; two brothers Bernardo Griego and his wife Sheffa of Albuquerque, N.M., and Luis Griego and his wife Amelia and one sister Cerilla (Lela) Dennett of Hereford; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Cresilla is preceded in death by her parents, a son Duain Gomez, a grandson Isiah Morales, two brothers George and Justo Griego and three sisters Priscilla Lucero, Doroteia and Delores Griego.
