Costancia Valdez, 90, of Hereford, Texas passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM with Celebrant Nestor Lara officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 4:00 -8:00 PM at the funeral home with rosary at 6:00 PM.

Costancia was born February 17, 1931, to Encarnacion and Guadalupe (Mendoza) Guardiola in Hidalgo County, Texas. Costancia has been a resident of Hereford, Texas since 1942. She took great pride in raising her children and caring for her husband. She taught all her children how to care for themselves and how to work hard; she also taught her children and grandchildren how to play baseball. She always made sure her family was taken care of and safe. Costancia was the Boss of the household, her children knew just by a shake of her finger they were in trouble. Costancia loved to play bingo, dancing, crocheting, and cooking her specialty chicken mole and rice and many other wonderful dishes for her family. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Regina Valdez and her husband Victor Carbajal, John Thomas Valdez and his wife Juanita, Carol Ruiz and her husband Juan, Albert Valdez, and Robert Valdez all of Hereford, Texas; 24 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 28 great-great- grandchildren.

Costancia will be joining her parents, her husband Santiago S. Valdez, her twin son and daughter, Jose and Maria, a daughter, Corena Garcia, 2 sisters, Ramona Guardiola, and Lola Guardiola and a brother, Mingo Guardiola, her grandson, Jimmy Ruiz and a granddaughter, Stoney Monique Valdez in heaven.
