Corena S. Garcia, 66, lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Hereford, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Nestor Lara officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home with rosary to begin at 6:00 PM. Everyone attending the mass and the viewing/rosary must wear a mask provided by you. Your safety and health matter to us.

Corena was born November 7, 1954 in Hereford, TX to Santiago and Costancia (Guardiola) Valdez. Corena was a daddy's girl. She married John Garcia and they shared 39 wonderful years together. She worked for Hereford Independent School district for twenty plus years in the Cafeteria and sold Avon for many years.  She was a hard worker and took pride in all she did. She loved Betty Boop and collected many Betty Boop purses over the years. Corena had a passion for gardening, her favorite flowers were roses and all her household plants thrived because of her green thumb. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church and was a devoted catholic. She loved to bake, cakes were her specialty. Corena had a big heart, she was generous and put others above herself. She will always be missed and dearly loved.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband John; children Ismael Valdez and his wife Donna of Caddo, OK, Trinity Ramos of Hereford, TX, and Ruben Ramos and his wife Amy of Durant, OK; mother Costancia Valdez of Hereford, TX; siblings Regina Carbajal and her husband Victor, Johnny Valdez, Carolina Ruiz and her husband Juan, Albert Valdez and Robert Valdez all of Hereford, TX; grandchildren Ruben Rod Ramos, Regan Ramos, Rylee Ramos, and Kalub Valdez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Corena is joining her father Santiago, and siblings Maria and Jose Valdez in heaven.
