Conny "Meme" Whitehorn, 81, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Hereford. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ellis Parson officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford. Viewing and Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Conny was born on August 11, 1941, in Clayton, New Mexico to LD and Velna (Behimer) Combs. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1959 and has been a resident of Hereford since 1976. Conny married Ricky Whitehorn on March 27, 1977, in Hereford, Texas. Conny owned and operated several car washes in Hereford: Rainbow Car Wash, Hereford Car Wash, Quick Carwash, and Conny's Custom Car Cleaning. She worked 20 years in the car washing business and then drove a school bus for Hereford Independent School District for 17 years until retirement. Connie loved music, garage sales, and she was the ultimate thrift shopper. She loved to ride motorcycles and travel with her husband Ricky, they had lots of fun adventures together. Connie was one of a kind, always the boss, sassy, sweet, kindhearted, strong, always gave what she could, and worked hard. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, and Meme.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Ricky Whitehorn of Hereford, Texas; children, Thane Wright and his wife Molly of Amarillo, Texas, Tabitha Gruver and her husband Jarrod of Amarillo, Texas, and Coy Whitehorn of Hereford, Texas; grandchildren, Casey Castleberry, Clint Castleberry (Michelle), Erin Wright, Matt Wright (Blake), Tell Laing (Amy), Sye Lang (Luis), Kree Laing (Kallahan), Briar Gruver (Jesus), Desiree Whitehorn, and Destiny Whitehorn; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister Carol Brewer and her husband Bobb Roos of Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, LD and Velna Combs, and daughter Cindy Dear.
