Connie Tom Brumley, 85, of Hereford, TX, died June 2, 2026 in Hereford after a lengthy illness.  She was born on February 7,1941, to Arthur and Florence Robinson in Wellington, TX and lived in Quail, TX until her family moved to Hereford in 1956.

Connie graduated from Hereford High School, and married David Brumley February 7,1960.  They attended Texas Tech University, then moved back to Hereford to farm and ranch where they raised their four daughters Margaret, Barbara, Melissa, and Angela. Connie was active in her daughters' lives as they participated in Campfire Girls, 4-H, band, and many other school and church activities.  She was a leader for Campfire Girls, and belonged to the First Methodist Church in Hereford where she participated in the Sanctuary and Bell Choirs. Connie had many talents that she passed along to her girls, including crocheting, painting, cooking and canning, singing, and sewing.  She was an animal lover, and was devoted to rescuing dogs and the occasional cat and volunteered with the Deaf Smith County Humane Society.

Connie was a hairdresser for many years after graduating from Cosmetology school, and later worked as the secretary at the First Methodist Church in Hereford. Most recently she worked for the Prime Time Alternative Campus in the Hereford Independent School District where she used her special talents and compassion to work with young people.

Connie is survived by her husband David Brumley of Hereford, TX, daughters Margaret Williams of Hereford, TX, Barbara Gilbert (Hennon) of Ft. Worth, TX, Melissa Brumley Schlabs (the late Kenneth Schlabs) of Hereford, TX, and Angela Brumley-Shelton (Ben) of Lexington, KY.  Grandchildren include Bethany Hernandez (Gilbert), Hannah Williams, Keely Peterson (Tory), Braden Schlabs (Kendall), Tayler Odhiambo, Jacob Paige Jordan, Graeden Gilbert (Caitlyn), Logan Shelton, and Samuel Shelton, as well as seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Florence Robinson and son-in-law Kenneth Schlabs.

Visitation will be Friday June 5, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home, 105 Greenwood St., Hereford, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday June 6, 2026, at First Methodist Church in Hereford, TX with Pastor Lupe Acevedo officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Hereford, TX following the service. Pallbearers will be Hennon Gilbert, Ben Shelton, Jayse Hernandez, Luke Hernandez, Noah Hernandez, and Tryston Hernandez. In honor of Connie's love of bright colors and to further celebrate her life, the family asks everyone attending the service to wear bright colors at their discretion.
