Clerida Cruz of Hereford, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Amarillo at the age of seventy-seven years.  A viewing will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 11:00AM to 8:00PM in the chapel of Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.  Memorial Service will take place at 5:00PM at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall with Elder Albert Cantu officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Clerida Cruz was born on September 27, 1945, in Weslaco, Texas to Jacinto Cruz and Maria (Garcia) Cruz.  Clerida had been a resident of the Hereford community for 23 years.  She married Felipe Cruz in 1980 in Farwell, Texas.  She loved raising her children and caring for her husband. Clerida was known for her laugh, her exceptional cooking, her big heart, spending time with friends and family and traveling with her husband, Felipe while also always being a faithful member to her church.  But most of all she will be remembered as an amazing wife and mother who loved her family very much.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Felipe Cruz of Hereford, two sons, Fernando Cruz and wife Hilda of Amarillo and Juan Carlos Cruz of Hereford, sister, Janie Gonzalez of Amarillo, brother, Ramiro Cruz and wife Martha of Alvin, brother, Raul Cruz and wife Gloria of Hereford, sister, Sarita Margo of Mansfield, brother, Roland Cruz, and wife Olivia of San Angelo along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Alvina Garza, three brothers, Ruben Cruz, Raymundo Cruz and Rene Cruz.
