Charles Floyd "Chuck" Cosper, 85, of Hereford, Texas, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in Amarillo surrounded by his loving family. A family burial will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at West Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Hereford with Pastor Jacob Larra officiating. A Family and Friend Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Chuck was born on February 15, 1939, in Paducah, Texas, to Virgil and Roxie (Sherman) Cosper. Chuck met his forever best friend and wife, Sue (Hodge), in the 7th grade. They were later married on November 15, 1957, in Clarendon at the First Baptist Church. They shared sixty-six beautifully blessed years together.

Chuck and Sue moved to Hereford in 1969. He attended Texas A&M Game Warden School and worked as the local Game Warden for 30 years until retirement. He was also a pilot and flight instructor, working from Friona Airport, spraying crops and instructing.  Chuck was a long time member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Hereford and a member of the Texas Baptist Men Retired Builders where he traveled and faithfully served the Lord for 14 years. Chuck served as the president of Hereford Kids Inc, president of the Hereford Booster Club and was an enthusiastic Hereford Whiteface Fan, proudly earning the title "Fan of the Week". Chuck was a founding member of the "Old Fart Club", spending every afternoon at McDonalds drinking coffee and socializing with friends.

Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, snow skiing, and daily playing solitaire on his phone. He was a loyal husband, daddy, Pop, and friend who spoke few words. He loved unconditionally and set an example of what a man should be while faithfully walking in all the Fruits of The Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his wife Sue Cosper of Hereford, Texas; children, Pam Boren and her husband Jay of Rising Star, Texas, Ken Cosper and his wife Markay of Azle, Texas, and Vickie Young and her husband Darren of Plainview, Texas; grandchildren, Heath Boren (Kim), J.W. Boren (Belinda), Nathan Young (Alyson), Jarrod Young (Katie), Abbey Cosper, Jack Cosper, and Sam Cosper; great-grandchildren, Colby Reese, Ava Boren, Lilly Boren, Brock Boren, Emory Boren, Isaiah Boren, Zeke Boren, Slade Young, Saylor Young, Sloane Young, Ellie Young, and Jake Young; and sister, Janette Abraham and her husband Greg of Lake Crystal, Minnesota.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Roxie Cosper, infant son Larry Lynn Cosper, and brother Bobby Cosper.
