Christopher Joseph "C.J." Rivera, 28, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Hereford, Texas. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Hereford Church of the Nazarene with Pastor's Andrew Taylor and Ted Taylor officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A face mask is required to be worn at all three events. Only (50) people are allowed in the funeral home at any one given time. Your safety and health matter to us.

C.J. was born April 2, 1992 in Hereford, Texas to Hilda Rivera Valdez. C.J. attended the Nazarene Christian Academy of Hereford and the Community Christian School of Hereford attending Hereford High School beginning his 10 ^th grade year. He graduated from Hereford High School in 2010. He attended Amarillo College, graduating with an Associate Degree. He married the love of his life, Jasmine Gomez, on December 13, 2013 and together they had three beautiful children. C.J. was employed for Budweiser in Amarillo as a vendor for 8 years; he was a member of the Hereford Church of the Nazarene.

C.J. enjoyed Taekwondo in his earlier years receiving his 3 ^rd degree black belt. He played the drums in his church at the age of twelve; he also enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, never taking any lessons for his gifted talent. C.J. played baseball, basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball, being a huge fan of all sports.

C.J. loved his family, but he especially loved his children, his wife, his mother, grandmother, and his bratty sister, as he would call her. He was a "grandma's boy". C.J. was everyone's friend and everyone loved him. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, George and Hilda Valdez of Hereford, Texas; his wife, Jasmine Rivera of Amarillo, TX., his three beautiful children, Caysen Noah Rivera, Jeriah Isaac Rivera, and Azriella Priscilla Rivera all of Amarillo, TX., his sister, Miranda Valdez and his nephew, Malachi Mungia both of Hereford, TX., his maternal grandparents, Efren and Estella Montoya and his paternal grandparents George and Estella Valdez all of Hereford, TX., his aunt, Roberta Rivera of Colorado Springs, CO., and a great uncle, Robert Medina and his wife Maria of Eagle Pass, TX., and numerous cousins.
