Chriselda "Chris" Garcia, 47, lifelong resident of Hereford, TX, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Hereford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Varner officiating.   Services have been entrusted to Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home. A viewing will be held Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 Virus mandates only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at one given time, your health and safety matter to us.

Chris was born on February 21, 1973 in Hereford, Texas to Jose Barrera and Graciela (Valdez) Garcia. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1992.  Chris worked as Quality Assurance for Caviness Beef Packers of Hereford, TX for the last 6 years.  She was an amazing and loving mother, sister, and grandmother.  Chris enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to dance. She had a great sense of humor and wanted to make everyone laugh. Chris was known for her generous heart and would drop everything to help her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Jose Barrera Garcia.

She is survived by her children: daughter Aureonna Demension Garcia Tijerina of Hereford, TX, two sons: Juan Jose Tijerina of Amarillo, TX,  and Malachi Oz Garcia Tijerina of Hereford, TX;  her mother Graciela Valdez Garcia of Hereford, TX; three sisters: Valarie Garcia of Canyon, TX,  Marisol Garcia of Amarillo, TX,  Maricela Quintanilla and husband Manuel of Amarillo, TX; two brothers: Daniel Valdez Garcia and Jose Jr. Garcia IV both of Amarillo, TX; one grandson Zayden Luke Tijerina of Hereford.
