Charlie Marquez Lopez, 74, of El Paso, Texas formerly of Hereford, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in El Paso, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 15, 2021, at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Nestor Lara officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing will be Thursday from 1:00-8:00 PM with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Charlie was born on July 15, 1947, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Felix Marquez Renteria and Guadalupe Lopez Pedrosa. Charlie was a Hereford resident in 1995 and made Hereford his home for several years. He later became a resident of California for approximately 45 years. He worked in Lynwood, California in construction with the City of California. Charlie moved to El Paso, Texas in 2010. He worked for maintenance with ProPetro of El Paso, Texas. He married the love of his life Maria Hortencia Lara Mendez on November 6, 2012, in El Paso, Texas. In Charlie's younger days he loved playing baseball. His wife and daughter stated that he was the most handsome cowboy that ever was. He was a very hard-working and responsible man. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family, whom he loved deeply. He and his wife were united, he loved her deeply as well as she did him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Maria Hortencia Marquez of El Paso, Texas; his children, Martin Marquez and his wife Beatrice Robles of Los Angeles, CA., Luis Carlos Robles and his wife Angelica of Colorado Springs, CO., Nora Colenzo and her husband Robert of Los Angeles, CA., Gustavo Marquez and Andres Marquez both of Colorado Springs, CO., and Esther Marquez of El Paso, Texas; his step-children, Saul Reyes and his wife Bertha Martinez of El Paso, Texas, Raul Lara and his wife Magaly, Gustavo Lara and his wife Sandra Hernandez and Guadalupe Reyes and her husband Luis all of Juarez, Mexico; his siblings, Delores Marquez and her husband Rafael Vargas and Irene Marquez all of Hereford, Texas, Felix Marquez and his wife Maria of California, Juana Ramirez and her husband Juan of Pampa, Texas and Guillermo Marquez of Juarez, Mexico, and several grandchildren.

Charlie will be joining his parents and his sister, Santos Marquez in heaven.
