Charlie Marquez, Jr., unexpectedly passed away at the age of 55 in Cali, Columbia on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at San Jose Catholic Church on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. with Father Ramon Molina officiating, burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. A family and friend visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Marquez family has entrusted Funeral Services to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Charlie was born to Charlie Marquez, Sr., and Stella Pena in Hereford, Texas, on September 30, 1969. Charlie was a life-long resident of Hereford, graduating from Hereford High Class of '88. Charlie played baseball while in school and played on the Allstar Baseball team. While he was growing up, he used to draw pictures of semi-trucks and would say he was going to be a trucker. Charlie's drawing became reality, and he started his own trucking company "Marquez and Sons Trucking" he proudly owned and operated this business for 36 years along with his brothers and father. He developed a strong work ethic that was instilled by his "Grampi". Charlie was blessed with a beautiful daughter Nyah, that will carry on his legacy with the same lessons that were instilled by "Grampi". Nyah will cherish his words of wisdom for eternity. 10-4, trucker drive on..

Charlie loved his family wholeheartedly. Charlie had a big heart and would take the shirt off his back and wouldn't ask for anything in return. He was a man of his word and stood by it. He loved to watch WWE wrestling especially "Monday Night Raw" with his daughter. Charlie was an avid Kiss fan he was able to see them in concert 8 times and he enjoyed every minute.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his children, Nyah Marquez and bonus son Gregory Zambrano of Hereford, Texas; his parents, Charlie Marquez, Sr. of Hereford, Texas, Stella Pena of Hereford, Texas; his siblings, Adrian Marquez of Clovis, New Mexico, Clarisse Marquez, Jerry Marquez, Jude Marquez, Jessica Marquez, Michael Marquez all of Hereford, Texas; his loving Tios and Tias; his fur baby Badger of Hereford, Texas.

Preceding him in passing are his loving Grandma and Grampi Marquez.
