Celia Darlene Ontiveros, age 61, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Amarillo. Arrangements and cremation services are under the care of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial Memorial Service, led by her family, will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hereford, Texas, at 1:00 PM with Father Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial of her cremains will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Celia was born on November 18, 1964, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Steven and Mary (Madrid) Saiz. She had been a resident of Amarillo, Texas, for the past 25 years. In 1986, Celia met her soulmate, Andres Ontiveros, Jr., and together, for 39 years, they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and children. She took great pride in caring for her husband and raising her family.

Celia enjoyed making jewelry of all kinds, tending to her yard, and beautifully decorating her home. Her homemade tortillas were well-loved by family and friends. She had a passion for attending garage sales, visiting thrift stores, participating in family gatherings and cookouts, and exploring Pinterest. Above all, her greatest joys were spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and her mother.

Celia was known for being the life of the party. Her morning phone calls with her mother and her infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Andres Ontiveros, Jr. of Amarillo; her mother, Mary Saiz of Hereford; her children: Andres Ontiveros III and his wife, Shannon Shaw, David Ontiveros and his girlfriend, Mary Orozco, and Sandra Flores and her husband, Jose, all of Amarillo; her six grandchildren: Relles Garcia III, Jeremiah Saiz, Geneva Saiz, Israel Flores-Powell, Elijah Flores, and Heaven Flores; her two great-grandchildren: Ezekyel Garcia and Gabriel Garcia. Celia is also survived by her siblings: Orlando Saiz of Tucumcari, NM; Gerald Saiz of Las Vegas, NM; Edward Saiz of Minnesota; Bernie Saiz of Amarillo; and Perla Ayala, of Hereford. Additional surviving family includes her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ramona Segovia and her husband, Manuel, of Amarillo; Amelia Van and her husband, Jerry, of Hereford; Ramiro Ontiveros of Amarillo; and Fernando Ontiveros and his wife, Roxann of Hereford, and Miguel Ontiveros and wife Krystal of Amarillo.

Celia was preceded in death by her father, her brothers Herman and Steven Jr. Saiz, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andres Sr. and Francisca (Pesqueda) Ontiveros.
