Carolina "Maria" Peña, 65, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Hereford. Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethel Casa De Dios Church of the Nazarene of Hereford, Texas with Pastor Ramiro Ortiz officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the church from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M.

Carolina was born on February 1, 1956 to Gregory Sr. and Carolina (Rodriguez) Cantu in Austin, Texas. She married Bernardo Peña and they shared thirty-three wonderful years together. She was a homemaker and took great pride in taking care of her family. Carolina had a heart of gold, she was kind, loving, caring, fun, joyful and full of life. She was a faithful member of Bethel Casa De Dios Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed spending time with her husband cruising around town and going out to eat. She liked to gamble, playing bingo, cards, and slots and was famous for her homemade tacos and fried fish. Carolina was humble, never held a grudge, and was always content. She loved her family, grandchildren, and dogs Brownie and Dallas. Carolina will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are husband, Bernardo Peña of Hereford, TX., sons, Andres Delgado and his wife Nancy of Edinburg, TX. and David Villa Delgado and his wife Leslie of Hereford, TX., daughter Mary Delgado of Hereford, TX., eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, siblings, Josie Martinez and her husband Joe, Olivia Cantu and her husband Pablo Sanchez, Gregory Cantu, Jr., Robert Cantu Sr. and his wife Blanca, Janie Cantu all of Hereford, TX., and Dora Silva and her husband Ruben of Amarillo, TX., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elvida Cantu, brother Raymond Cantu Sr., and grandchild Rudy Ruiz.
