Zonetta Carlynn DeLozier, 85, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 in Hereford. A Family Graveside will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Hereford with Pastor Jacob Larra and Pastor Carl DeLozier officiating. A Family and Friend visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Zonetta Carlynn DeLozier was born October 21, 1938 to Carl and Zoe Williams in Hereford, Texas.   She was raised in Hereford and graduated salutatorian in 1957.  Her grandfather, Troy Womble, was the first resident of Hereford and a replica of his dugout is on display in the county museum. After graduating from West Texas State University she began a career in education which included positions in Dimmitt, Estancia, New Mexico and Hereford, Texas. While teaching in Dimmitt, she met the love of her life, Edward DeLozier and they were married August 3, 1962 and they were basically inseparable for the next 58 years. She taught several grade levels and concluded her thirty eight years of service by facilitating a HOSTS mentor reading program that brought in volunteers from the community.

The DeLoziers were involved in several community activities including: First Christian Church which became Trinity Fellowship. Carlynn volunteered in many areas such as: campfire girls, Sunday school, youth group meetings, the local hospice program and the Whiteface booster club.    She invested many days and nights preparing to host an annual Christmas eve "open house" for friends and family. Ed and Carlynn supported Hereford athletics being named "fans of the year" in 1992.  A few of her favorite activities were playing bridge with friends, spending time with her family and going to the mountains.

Carlynn is survived by a brother, Arvell Williams and wife Monica of Amarillo, a sister, Fanelda Westphalen and husband Russell of Kiron, Iowa; two sons: Don DeLozier and his wife Michelle of Hereford, Texas, Carl DeLozier and his wife Karen of Friendship, Louisiana.

She is survived by nine grandchildren:  Jessica Bell and husband Tim, Dodge DeLozier and wife Hannah, Dayton DeLozier, Joshua DeLozier, Matthew DeLozier, Daniel DeLozier, and Joseph DeLozier, and three great grandchildren: Bennett, Brynndall, and Breelynn Bell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed DeLozier, parents:  Carl and Zoe Williams, brothers Delmo Williams and wife Nell, Duane Williams and wife Marilyn.
