Carlyle Sargent 85, of Hereford passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Hereford. Graveside services will be Friday at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford at 10:30 AM with Rev. Billy Joe Wall officiating. Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Avenue Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Carlyle was born to Charlie and Emma (Shaw) Sargent on January 13, 1932. He has been a resident of Hereford since 1947. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Lee on January 28, 1951 in Clovis, NM. Carlyle has been a farmer all his life. He was a member of Avenue Baptist Church of Hereford. He and Dorothy enjoyed square dancing and country music dancing. Carlyle was a collector of value of metal and wood, he enjoyed fishing, going to parts store's and to the Hereford Hardware Store, he truly enjoyed his "Coffee Gang" that met at McDonald's almost everyday to drink coffee and plan the day. Carlyle never met a stranger, cause he loved to talk and visit, he was a good honest hard worker.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Dorothy Sargent of Hereford, a son, Dennis Sargent and his wife Cathy of Flagstaff, AZ., a daughter, Donna Brooks and her husband Dan of Hereford; three grandchildren, Cody Sargent and his wife Cristy of Gilbert, AZ., Duston Brooks and his wife Julie of Hereford and Danna Gallagher and her husband Tommy of Amarillo and one great grandchild, Paisley Sargent of Gilbert, AZ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond Sargent and a sister, Roberta Blackburn.
