Brigido Rivera Pizaña, 55, of Hereford passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 in Friona. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford at 2:00PM with celebrant Rev. Ramon Molina Mora, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Rosary to be Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Brigido was born October 8, 1962 in Mexico to Anastacio and Maria Socorro Rivera Pizaña. Brigido has been a resident of Hereford for 4 years, moving from Tucumcari, New Mexico where he resided for 28 years. He was employed as a welder at Friona feed yard and attended church at La Iglesia de San Jose. Brigido enjoyed listening to music, being with his family and friends and socializing but his greatest hobby was horse races. Brigido was a very hardworking man and cared deeply for his family and those around him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Aurelia Rivera of Hereford and his two children, Jorge Rivera and girlfriend Savannah Barrientos and his daughter, Maira Rivera all of Hereford; his mother, Maria Socorro of Mexico, and four brothers, Martin Rivera of Tucumcari, NM., Domingo Rivera Pizaña, Ranulfo Rivera Pizaña, Jose Rivera Pizaña and Manuel Rivera all of Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his father, Anastacio Rivera.
