Bobby "Bob" Kendrick, 83, a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Hereford, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Hereford Church of the Nazarene at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ted Taylor officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 virus we ask that a mask be worn at both the viewing and the funeral service. Bobby was born August 16, 1937 in Portales, New Mexico to Glee and Mabel (Sims) Kendrick. Bobby has been a resident of Hereford for 56 years. Bobby was a United States Navy veteran. He married the love of his life Elizabeth Maness on August 25, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, Elizabeth passed away in 2018. Bobby owned and operated Kendrick Body Shop in Hereford with his brothers for several years. He later drove a truck for Helena Chemicals for 35 years; later in life Bobby decided to become a EMT with his daughter, Glenda, who together they worked Hereford and Dimmitt EMS for 15 years. His EMT buddies named him "Hey You" since Glenda didn't want to call him by name or daddy while at work so, "Hey You" was his EMT name. Bobby was a member at Grace Baptist Church for several years. He and Glenda recently in the past couple of years began attending the Hereford Church of the Nazarene. Bobby loved to paint, draw, build things with his hands and he truly, loved camping and cooking outdoors. His greatest love was his family; his wife, children, and grandchildren were his world. He always had an infectious smile on his face and hardly ever became upset. His daughters stated that he was strong, compassionate, gentle, humble and a Godly man, who was the greatest husband, daddy, and grandfather anyone could ever ask for.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Melody Sims and her husband Richard of Hereford, TX., Juanita Fortenberry and her husband Bryan of Amarillo, TX., Barbara Rice and her husband Terry of Claremore, OK., and Glenda Kendrick of Hereford, TX., a brother, Jim Kendrick of Republic, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Bobby Sims, Steven Sims, Jeremy Rusk, Nicholas Rusk, Jeremiah Fortenberry, Kery Rice, Lacy Rice and Dalton Rice and 14 great grandchildren.

Bobby is joining his parents, his wife, Elizabeth Kendrick, 6 brothers, Coon, Billy, Dick, Hoover, Jack, and Glen Kendrick, 2 sisters, Dot Taylor and Veb Woodruff and a granddaughter, Robin Rice in heaven.
