Betty Hobratschk Jones, 79, of Hereford, Texas passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 in Hereford. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00 PM at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas with Pastor Joe Andrajack officiating. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Family and friend visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Viewing will begin Friday from 2:00-8:00 PM.
Betty was born April 15, 1940 in Vernon, Texas to Martin and Ida (Waythe) Hobratschk. Betty has been a resident of Hereford, Texas since 1970. She was employed by the Hereford Independent School District for many years, retiring from HISD. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hereford. Betty was an avid reader and a longtime patron of the Deaf Smith County Library. She loved to garden and was an amazing writer; she journaled her entire life and she enjoyed learning about her genealogy. Betty was very proud of her German heritage and was also extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. Betty was a faithful wife, wonderful and an amazing mother, grandmother and friend.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children Kirk Jones and his wife Emily of Montgomery, Texas; Tanya Carder and her husband Mark of Lubbock, Texas and Craig Jones and his wife Leslie of Korinth, Texas; a brother Larry Hobratschk and his wife Beverly of Edna, Texas and a sister-in-law Mary Hobratschk of Colorado Springs, CO. Eight grandchildren Grayson, Garrett and Emma Jones; Austin, Dylan and Mackenzie Carder; Spencer Guthrie and her husband Mason and Schyler Lavoie and her husband Eric; one great grandson Kason Guthrie; nieces and nephews Marty and Monty Hobratschk, Rachel Hobratschk and Michelle Thompson and a forever faithful friend Jackie Smothermon.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee W. Jones and her brother Glenn Hobratschk.
