Bernabe "Billy" Alejandre, 70, of Hereford, Texas passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM with Celebrant Nick Gerber officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM at the funeral home and rosary will begin at 6:00 PM.

Billy was born June 11, 1951, in Raymondville, Texas to Juaquin and Inez (Turrubiate) Alejandre. Billy has been a resident of Hereford since the 1950's. He graduated from Hereford High school in 1971 and later that year he married the love of his life, Diolanda Mariscal. Several of the Hereford community know Bernabe by his nickname, "Billy the Kid" or "Billy".  He worked for Mormon Trucking in Hereford for 15 years, later he worked for Holly Sugar and many feed yards in their security department. Billy's most recent employment was at Amigo's, where he has been employed for the last 5 years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Billy's all time favorite hobby was cooking, he was known for his famous beef jerky, where there were many a fight for this jerky. He was also known for his wonderful hot sauce; he had mastered the recipe for his Spanish rice and his menudo. Billy was a man of many words, he never met a stranger and always had reason to strike up conversation with anyone. He enjoyed taking his family to watch wrestling matches. His greatest love was his family. He wanted his home to be filled with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and as many of his family that wanted to join in on the fun. Billy truly had a heart of gold. He wanted to take care of anyone and everyone that was struggling in life. He will be dearly missed by numerous family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Diolanda Alejandre of Hereford, Texas, his daughter, Berlinda Monsebais and her husband Omar of Hereford, Texas, 5 brothers, Joe "PePe" Alejandre, Martin Alejandre and Poncho Alejandre all of Hereford, Texas, Jr. Alejandre and his wife Maria of San Antonio, Texas and Neto Alejandre and his wife Rita of Corpus Christie, Texas; 4 sisters, Carmen Alejandre, Maria Balderama and Ninfa Alejandre all of Hereford, Texas and Rosario Alejandre of Amarillo, Texas,  3 granddaughters, Miriah, Miranda and Mercedes Monsebais and 2 great grandchildren, Jaylyn and Amaya, and many nieces and nephews.

Billy will be joining his parents, 2 brothers, Ponciano and Eusebio Alejandre and several nieces and nephews.
