Beatriz Fuentes, 94, of Hereford, Texas passed away July 20, 2019 in Hereford, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at La Iglesia de San Jose at 10:00 AM with Msgr.  Joe Bixenmen officiating.  Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.  Rosary will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Beatriz was born July 11, 1925 to Benigno and Petra (Valadez) Villarreal, in La Villa, Mexico.  She married Emilio Fuentes on November 22, 1947 and became a resident of Hereford in the late 1950's. Beatriz was an excellent cook and truly enjoyed having her church friends over to eat, she has been a member of San Jose Catholic Church for 35 years, and served as a deacon's wife and a Eucharistic minister from 1986 to 2016. Her hobbies included embroidery, cooking and entertaining. Beatriz was a kind and giving women and ministered to people.

Those left to cherish her memories are four daughters; Dora Paiz and husband Patrick of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Elva Rodriguez and husband Gregory, Blanca Mariscal and husband Eluterio, Jr., and Marisa Barrera and husband Freddy all of Hereford, Texas. Three sons Emilio Fuentes, Jr. and wife Mary of Amarillo, Texas. Humberto Fuentes and wife DeeDee of San Antonio, Texas, and Ricardo Fuentes and wife Donna of Washington, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emilio Fuentes, two brothers; Benigno Villarreal, and Santos Villarreal; two sisters Dolores Valdez and Matilde Villarreal; and three granddaughters Cathy Paiz, Vanessa Fuentes, and Veronica Fuentes.

Family suggest memorials be made to San Jose Catholic Church, 735 Brevard St., Hereford, Texas 79045.
