Balta "El Tio" Moreno, 72, of Hereford, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 28, 2019 at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church in the hall at 2:00 PM with Celebrant Ramon Molina, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery of Hereford, Texas. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin Friday, December 27, 2019 from 12:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Rosary will be Friday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Balta was born December 5, 1947 in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico to Juan and Elisa Moreno. Balta has been a resident of Hereford for 16 years. He married Eva Olivia Jurado Ortiz on June 14, 1970. Balta was a custom printer in Chihuahua, Mexico for the governor of Mexico for thirty years retiring from this job and coming to the United States. He worked for Top of Texas for seven years. He was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford. Balta enjoyed singing, eating all kinds and types of food; he was a very social, friendly and caring man who would give the shirt off his back to those who were in need; he was named the "Master Nicknamer", but his greatest love and joy was having a house full of family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Eva Olivia Juardo Ortiz of Hereford, Texas, two sons, Hector Moreno and wife Sandra of Phoenix, Arizona, and Sergio Adrian Moreno and wife Marisol Molina of Hereford, Texas; four daughters, Yanira Moreno and husband Armando Payán of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Claudia Moreno and husband Ricardo Aldaz of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Gisela Moreno of Hereford, Texas, Karina Moreno and husband Joel Paujaud of Hereford, Texas; Three brothers, Manuel Moreno of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Armando Moreno and wife Lupe of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Eusebio Moreno and wife Teresa of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico; Three sisters, Dora Moreno of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Juana Moreno of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Aracely Moreno and husband Pablo Beltran of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico; Ten grandchildren, Ivan Moreno, Irwin Moreno, Luis Aldaz, Keyra Aldaz, Yadien Moreno, Ayleen Moreno, Yaritzel Moreno, Yael Moreno, Yailyn Paujaud, and Yaneisy Paujaud; Two great grandchildren, Mia Moreno, and Itzayana Moreno.

Balta is proceeded in death by his parents, Juan Moreno and Elisa Moreno and his grandmother Benita Martinez.
