Aurora DeLaCerda Ramirez, 74, of Hereford, Texas passed away, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 3:00 PM at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church with celebrant Rev. Nestro Lara, burial to follow at St. Anthonys Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Rosary will be held Friday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Aurora was born October 18, 1943 to Antonio and Paula (Peǹa) DeLaCerda in Aguas Calentes, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She has been a lifelong resident of Hereford. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1963. Aurora married Benigno Ramirez on March 20, 1965 in Hereford, Texas. She was a teacher's aide for Hereford Independent School District for 31 years. Aurora was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford, where she served as a Eucharistic Minster and a Guadalupana; she was very active and involved in her church. Aurora enjoyed Bingo, spending time with her family and playing cards with them like blackjack and paco. Aurora was a great caregiver to others, not to mention, an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Benigno "Polo" Ramirez of Hereford, two sons; Benigno, "Benny" Ramirez of Hereford and David Ramirez of Alamagordo, N.M. and one daughter, Christina Ramirez of Hereford; ten brothers, Antonio DeLaCerda and his wife Cecelia, Ralph DeLaCerda and his wife Hilda, Arturo DeLaCerda and his wife Emilia, Sammy DeLaCerda, John Mendoza and his wife Diana, Dan Mendoza and his wife Hortencia, Carlos DeLaCerda all of Amarillo, Richard DeLaCerda and his wife Eliza of Dallas; Raymond DeLaCerda and his wife Imelda and Elias DeLaCerda and his wife Jackie all of Hereford and two sisters, Paula Leon of Ulysses, KS. and Consuelo Mejia and her husband Joe of Casa Grande, AZ., seven grandchildren, Elena Varela and Jeanette of Stratford, Emalee Orosco, Lexi Ramirez, Saraih Ramirez, David Ramirez, Jr., Levi Ramirez all of Alamogordo, NM. and Ray Ramirez of Hereford and four great grandchildren, J'lyn San Miguel, Ezekiel Lopez, Micalayah Orosco and Arralynn Rae Ramirez.

Aurora is preceded in death by her parents, a step-father, Juan Mendoza, her in-laws, Benigno and Esmeralda Ramirez, three brothers, George, Oscar and Israel DeLaCerda, two sisters-in-law, Amelia Galvez and Guadalupe Martinez, a brother-in-law, Johnny Ramirez and a niece, Jennifer Rodriguez.
