Aurelio Norez-Chavez, 91, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Burial will take place in Villa Matamoros, Chihuahua, Mexico, at a later date. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 1:30 PM-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Aurelio was born April 13, 1931, in Presidio, Durango, Mexico, to Macario and Petra (Chavez) Norez. Aurelio has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, since 2015. He married the love of his life Velia Ponce Guerrero in 1952. Aurelio has been a farmer most of his life. Aurelio enjoyed socializing and visiting with family and friends, he loved and lived a ranch lifestyle, he was a big politician, loved to listen to music, was a member of San Jose Catholic Church, but most importantly he loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children Gerardo Norez and his wife Lorena of Hereford, Texas, Hector Norez and his wife Monica of Albuquerque, NM., Adan Norez and his wife Nora of Hereford, Texas, Aurelio Norez and his wife Lupe of Liberal, KS., Jesus Norez and his wife Marisela of Albuquerque, NM., Atilano Norez and his wife Soledad of Midland, Texas, Oscar Norez and his wife Maria of Hereford, Texas, and Irene Norez and her husband Armando of Hereford, Texas; 26 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Aurelio is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velia Norez, 2 brothers Atilano and Juan Norez, a sister Santos Norez and 2 grandchildren Omar and Vanessa Norez.
