Antonio C. Garcia, 86, of Hereford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at San Jose Catholic Church, with Vimal Raj Samineedi Amal officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 PM and rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM.

Antonio was born on July 20, 1940, in San Buenaventura, Coahuila, Mexico, to Antonio and Candelaria (Campos) Garcia. He lived in Hereford for 62 years.

On December 14, 1958, he married the love of his life, Maria DeLaLuz Garcia, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Together, they built a beautiful life and a wonderful family.

Antonio began his farming career with Loyd Schultz Farms in Frio, where he worked for many years. He later spent several years at Armor Packing House in Hereford before becoming a self-employed truck driver.

Antonio enjoyed buying and selling all kinds of farm equipment and attending auctions in search of his next adventurous purchase, whether a vehicle or scrap metal. Of all his interests, however, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family.

He loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Antonio was a simple man with a big heart. He was always ready to help family members in need, and his home was always open to family and friends. His presence, generous spirit, strong work ethic, caring nature, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Children: Antonio Garcia Jr. and his wife, Marisol, of Odessa, Texas; Maria Garcia and her husband, Jose, of Amarillo, Texas; Alfredo Garcia and his wife, Delia, of Hereford, Texas; Liz Garcia of Amarillo, Texas; and Oscar Garcia and his wife, Lisa, of Amarillo, Texas. Grandchildren: 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brothers: Maximiliano Garcia and his wife, Susie, of Eagle Pass, Texas; Carlos Garcia of Buda, Texas; and Juan Garcia and his wife, Olivia, of Eagle Pass, Texas.

Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Candelaria Garcia; his sons, Oscar and Manuel Garcia; his great-grandson, Antonio Garcia V; his brothers, Guadalupe, Andres, and Gonzalo Garcia; and his sister, Dolores Sanchez.
