Anthony Gonzales, 53, of Hereford, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 2, 2024, unexpectedly in San Jon, New Mexico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. A family and friend visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 1:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Gonzales Family has entrusted Funeral Services to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Anthony was born to his loving parents, Anselmo Gonzales and Elvira (Mendoza) Gonzales in Hereford, Texas, on November 23, 1970. Anthony was a life-long resident of Hereford, born and raised he never came across a stranger. He attended Hereford Schools and graduated from Hereford High Class of '89. Shortly after he graduated, he married his love Rachel Alaniz and created a beautiful family of two loving sons. Anthony was a member and former Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Anthony always had a strong work ethic and joined the family business "Gonzales Brothers Plumbing" with his father and uncles.  After many years in the plumbing industry, he also worked for "Gonzales Plumbing" where he helped his brother David. He was currently working for "Hereford Plumbing".

Anthony loved to ride his Harley, he was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan and enjoyed tailgating and watching Notre Dame football. His wife and sons were Duke basketball fans, yet he was a North Carolina Tar Heel fan and loved to boast about his basketball team having more championship trophies, most importantly he enjoyed spending time with family, and watching his boys grow and play sports. Anthony often had a joke up his sleeve or would call you on the phone several times a day; he loved to make people laugh.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his wife of 31 years of marriage, Rachel Gonzales of Hereford, Texas; his two sons, Geoffrey Gonzales, and Brandon Gonzales all of Hereford, Texas; siblings, Norma Stallings of Corsicana, Texas, David Gonzales and his wife Monica, Selma Gonzales all of Hereford, Texas; his sister-in-law, Lori Gonzales of Hereford, Texas.

Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Anselmo "Sammy" Gonzales and Elvira Gonzales, 2 brothers, Robert and Anselmo Jr. Gonzales, a sister, Linda Gonzales.
