Amado "Charlie" Arellano, 65, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Hereford, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Amarillo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at Victory Family Worship Center in Hereford, Texas, with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing and Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with a rosary beginning at 6:30 P.M.

Amado "Charlie" was born on June 13, 1958, in Bakersfield, California to Gilberto and Julia (Hill) Arellano.  He was a resident of Hereford Texas for 40-plus years before moving to Amarillo. Charlie married Mary Ann (Marquez) Arellano on July 31, 2010, in Amarillo. He worked as an EMT, First Responder in Hereford, and with the Texas Department of Transportation for 30 years until his retirement.

Charlie enjoyed golfing, camping, grilling out and using his smoker, keeping a pristine yard, and listening to music; he was also known as "Rock and Roll Chuck". He and his wife enjoyed traveling and watching the Cowboys game. Charlie's greatest love was for his family, holidays and time spent with them, and especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed supporting and watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. Charlie was a family man.

He was happy, had a quick wit and infectious laugh that was recognizable for miles. He was a people person and knew no strangers. Charlie was generous, always kindly helping anyone in need.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Mary Ann Arellano of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Mandy Vigil and her husband Tony of Lubbock, Texas and Victoria Bravo and her husband Javier of Hereford, Texas; grandchildren, Clarysse Olivarez and her husband Adrian of Lubbock, Texas, AJ Vigil of Lubbock, Texas, Taylor Bravo of Hereford, Texas, Aubrey Bravo of Hereford, Texas, and J.J. Bravo of Hereford, Texas; great-grandchildren, Keagon Olivarez, Savannah Olivarez, and Mateo Duran; siblings, Gilbert Arellano and his wife Janice of Hereford, Texas; David Arellano and his wife Linda of Hereford, Texas, Carol Morales and her husband Humberto of The Woodlands, Texas, Irene Delgado and her husband Thomas of Amarillo, Texas; sister-in-law's, Petra Williams of Amarillo, Texas, Maria Blair and her husband Robert of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mary Helen Rodriguez and her husband Valente of Wolfforth, Texas, and brother-in-law Oscar Ramirez of Bee Cave, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gilberto and Julia Arellano and sister Berta Celaya.
