Alyce Sparks, 98, of Amarillo passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at West Park Cemetery with Pastor Chris Flickinger officiating. Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1:00PM-8:00PM at the funeral home.

Alyce was born September 5, 1921 in Dimmitt, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Hazel (Hacker) Sparks. She grew up in Hereford and attended Hereford schools. She attended beauty school in Amarillo. She was a beautician in Hereford and later moved to Amarillo and was a beautician there for 50 plus years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo. Bub, her brother, stated that he knew never to call her on Sunday and surely never come for a visit on that day due to her watching First Baptist Church of Amarillo on T.V. Alyce enjoyed traveling; she traveled to the Holy Lands and many other places, sometimes taking her family with her. She enjoyed making homemade ice cream for herself and her family. Alyce loved her independence and she loved her family unconditionally and had a great bond with them.

Those left to cherish her memories are her brother Bub Sparks and his wife Georgia of Hereford; three nephews John Richard Sparks and his wife Cheri of Big Springs; Jerry Sparks and his wife Cindy of Colorado Springs, CO. and Gregory Marshall and his wife Dreama of Kinsey, S.C.; a niece Ann Sparks of Frisco; three great nephews J. Rich Sparks and his wife Sarah; Andrew Sparks; William Eugene (Trey) Sparks III and his wife Kourtney and two great nieces Mikayla Kinsey and her husband Jeremy and Kelly Rose and her husband Zach and a cousin Weldon Hacker.

Alyce is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Virgie Marshall and two nephews William Eugene Sparks II and Terry Sparks.
